Law No. 21,398 "Pro-Consumer" of December 24, 2021, incorporated a new third paragraph in Article 1 N°3 of Law No. 19,496 on Consumer Rights Protection regarding basic commercial information.
This article of the CPA establishes that in the case of sales of durable goods, the duration of the product in foreseeable conditions of use, including the term in which the supplier is obliged to have spare parts and technical services for its repair, will be considered basic commercial information.
According to the first transitory article of the Pro-Consumer Law, this provision was subject to a legal vacancy period of 8 months, beginning to be in force on August 24, 2022.
