Hong Kong-based alternative investment group Xio has relied on Jones Day in Frankfurt and Chilean firm Aninat Schwencke & Cia to acquire fertiliser company Compo Expert, which manufacturers products for vineyards and golf courses, from German private equity fund Triton.
Triton turned to eight Linklaters offices in Germany, the UK, France, Spain and Italy, and Carey in Santiago for the deal, which closed on 30 March for an undisclosed amount.
Xio financed the acquisition with a loan from Commerzbank, which drew upon Chilean firm Bofill Mir & Alvarez Jana Abogados in Santiago and eight Ashurst offices in Frankfurt, Munich, Brussels, Madrid, Milan, London, Washington, DC, and Paris.
Compo Expert manufactures specialist fertiliser and plant protection products used by professionals to maintain vineyards and golf courses. As well as Chile, it also operates in Brazil, Argentina and Mexico. Triton aims to target its funding and management to the consumer branch of Compo, which sells products like lawn fertiliser and plant pot soil.
