Tender rules to award 43 expansion works of the Chilean electric transmission system are published

According to Decree 37 - that approves the Regulation of the Transmission Systems and Transmission Planning - and the Definitive Technical Report of the Annual Transmission Expansion Plan for the year 2022, the National Electric Coordinator ("Coordinator") published the General Administrative and Technical Tender Rules ("Rules") of the International Public Bidding process for the Construction and Execution of Expansion Works of the National and Zonal Transmission System ("Tender"), with a total referential investment of USD 223.7 million.

The Exent Decree N° 4 of the Ministry of Energy, published on January 22, 2024, includes the 43 expansion works object of the Bidding. The Coordinator has highlighted, among others, the "Expansion of the S/E Kimal 220 kV (IM)", necessary for the connection of the HVDC transmission line Kimal-Lo Aguirre in the Kimal Substation.

Those interested parties in participating in the Tender shall formalize their interest by purchasing the Rules before August 5, 2024. Based on the Rules, the acquisition value corresponds to CLP$ 1,000,000 (VAT included) / USD 1,016.

The acquisition of the Rules and registration in the Participants' Registry, together with compliance with the other requirements set forth in the Rules, will entitle the interested party to participate in the Tender, being able to submit only one proposal for each expansion work or group of works.

According to the schedule included in the Rules, the bids may be submitted between September 2 and September 4, 2024. The Tender process is expected to conclude on November 22, 2024, with the publication of the Awarding Act.
