MINVU extends the validity period of construction permits to 30 months
On March 16, 2026, Supreme Decree No. 2 issued by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning (“MINVU”) was published in the Official Gazette, amending the General Ordinance of the General Law of Urban Planning and Construction regarding the expiry of construction permits.
As a key aspect, the decree modifies the transitional provision previously introduced by Supreme Decree No. 33 of 2024, replacing the original 18-month extension with a new total term of 30 months.
In practical terms, this amendment grants an additional 12 months to construction permits that remained valid but had not yet commenced works within the originally established timeframe.
