Carey Visas News Alert: Update on quarantine measures in Chile due to covid-19
Please be informed that the Chilean Ministry of Public Health, due to the COVID-19 outbreak, within the framework of the health alert decreed by the Chilean government, has extended the 14 day quarantine period for those travelers arriving from the following countries (Decree No. 4 of January 5th, 2020, and its subsequent modification on March 7th, 2020):
Likewise a “sanitary passport” will be implemented at the sanitary customs, whereby the authorities have the power to deny entry to travelers at risk, that is, with respiratory symptoms.
On the other hand today, and given that Chile has entered fase 4 of the COVID-19, the Chilean government has announced the closing of land, sea and air borders (which shall not affect entry and exit of cargo and carriers), as of March 18th.
We will keep you informed of any new measures adopted.
