Banco de Chile has established a debt issuance programme worth 750 million Australian dollars (US$706 million) with help from Chile’s Carey and King & Wood Mallesons in Sydney.
The deal closed on 17 July and is the latest among a series of debt transactions in which the bank, with help from Carey, has sought to diversify its funding sources by issuing debt abroad. In May, Banco de Chile offered notes in Japan – an offering which was preceded by a Swiss capital markets issuance in April.
