Carey and Arteaga Gorziglia pave the way for Brookfield’s road sale
Christina McKeon Frutuoso
Carey has helped Canadian private equity group Brookfield sell its stake in two urban toll road projects north of Santiago to investment fund Infraestructura Alpha.
The buyer, which has obtained a 33% stake in the roads, is an affiliate of Frontal Trust Infraestructura Alpha. Frontal Trust was advised by Arteaga Gorziglia in the deal, which closed on 7 February. The deal value remains confidential.
Infraestructura Alpha has invested in Autopista Vespucio Norte and the San Cristóbal tunnel. The latter is part of a larger 4-kilometre road construction project, the Variante Vespucio-El Salto-Kennedy, which will link the eastern districts of Providencia and Las Condes to the northern districts of Huechuraba and Recoleta. Alongside Autopista Central, Costanera Norte and Vespucio Sur, Autopista Vespucio Norte is part of Santiago’s motorway network.
