Lending bank Corpbanca turned to Morales & Besa in Santiago and Uría Menéndez’s Madrid office for the deal, which closed on 16 January. De Brauw, Blackstone, Westbroek are believed to have advised Rijn Capital and Allen & Overy LLP are believed to have provided counsel to Corpbanca, but this could not be confirmed prior to publication.
Planta Solar San Pedro is a subsidiary of renewable energy developer Rijn Capital and will use US$76 million from the loan to fund the construction of a 56-megawatt photovoltaic power plant in Antofagasta. The remainder will be used to finance VAT payments related to the construction of the project.
