His practice focuses on antitrust, regulation, litigation and mergers and acquisitions matters.

    • ENAP on a proceeding before the Competition Tribunal (TDLC), initiated by the National Economic Prosecutor’s Office (FNE), aimed at assessing the compatibility with competition law of a series of joint operation agreements entered into by Copec, Enex and Esmax regarding liquid fuel storage facilities, as well as the agreements executed between those companies and ENAP.
    • Codelco on the formation of a public-private partnership with Rio Tinto to develop a lithium project in the Maricunga salt flat, following a competitive selection process involving key players in the global lithium industry, in accordance with the National Lithium Strategy of the Government of Chile. The project considers the production of 30,000 to 50,000 tons of lithium carbonate per year for a period of 30 years.
    • SAAM Ports, Iquique Terminal Internacional (ITI), and San Antonio Terminal Internacional (STI), subsidiaries of Hapag-Lloyd, on a TDLC special procedure initiated by Empresa Portuaria Valparaíso regarding a sectoral report aimed at defining competition conditions of a public tender for operating terminals at the Port of Valparaíso under a single-operator model.
    • Codelco on the antitrust aspects of its association with SQM, a world leader in lithium production, in relation to the implementation of the Chilean Government's National Lithium Strategy.
    • Hapag-Lloyd, a German listed company and global leader in container shipping, on the acquisition, for approx. USD1 billion, of the port terminals and inland logistics business of SAAM, a Chilean listed multinational company that provides foreign trade services. Hapag-Lloyd acquired the entire operation of the port terminals business of SAAM, which includes ten terminals in six countries in the Americas, and of the inland logistics business of SAAM.
    • ENAP on an analysis of a market study launched by the FNE regarding structural elements that may affect competition and development of the Chilean gas industry.
    • Nestlé Chile, DPDHL Group and J.F. Hillebrand, OMERS Infrastructure Chile Holdings I and Enagás Chile, Patria Investments and ThyssenKrupp, among others, on various merger control procedures before the FNE, related to mergers, acquisitions or joint ventures, of local and/or multi-jurisdictional scope.
