Counsel of Carey’s Environmental Group. He concentrates his practice in environmental law, indigenous regulations and regulatory matters in general by advising in project development and environmental assessment, legal opinions, environmental audits, litigation, amongst others.


  • Sempra/Chilquinta on the environmental and regulatory issues of the acquisition of Compañía Transmisora del Norte Grande, owned by AES Gener and its subsidiary Eléctrica Angamos, for USD219 million, consisting of 316 kms of transmission lines located in the regions of Antofagasta, Valparaíso and Metropolitana.
  • Pattern Energy on the acquisition of lands and permits to develop two and up to three NCRE projects in the North of Chile ranging between 90 to 100 MW. Carey provided strategic advice, helped obtaining all type of permits and authorizations to make this preliminary phase feasible (including concessions, easements and environmental licenses).
  • Danone with regards to all the environmental matters and permitting issues related to the sale of its local subsidiary.
  • Sichuan Tianqui on an environmental due diligence process with regards to Sociedad Química y Minera de Chile (SQM), the largest lithium and other non-metallic minerals producer in Chile, in connection with the potential acquisition of an important related company.
  • Conejo Solar, a company founded by Pattern and Antofagasta Minerals, on the process of obtaining environmental permits, concessions and easements for the construction and operation of a photovoltaic power plant of 104MW, located in the Antofagasta Region.
  • TENSA-EIP on the environmental and regulatory issues related to the construction works of part of the High Voltage Transmission Line "Cardones-Polpaico" (137 kilometers) in Chile. The project faces important environmental challenges and potential community opposition.
  • Origin Energy on permanent advice in environmental and regulatory matters.
  • Parque Eólico El Arrayán on environmental and regulatory matters related to the construction and operation of the largest wind farm in Chile with 50 turbines and 115 MW.
  • Foster Wheeler on environmental and regulatory matters.
  • Pattern Energy on a range of environmental and territorial matters related to solar projects to be developed in Chile.
