Salvador Valdés is a partner of Carey y Cía., the largest law firm in Chile. His practice includes advice on merger and acquisitions, private equity transactions, financing and derivative financial products. He represents Chilean and international clients in mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, financings, and corporate restructurings. He also regularly advises banks, financial institutions, and insurance companies in regulatory matters, securities offerings, and derivatives transactions. Over the past years he has represented Anheuser-Busch, Aramark Corporation, CIGNA Corporation, Dresdner Kleinwort, Grupo Nueva and Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan in acquisition transactions. He also advises on a regular basis some of the most active players in the Chilean financial market, including Barclays, Calyon, Credit Suisse, Deutsche Bank, Goldman Sachs, HSBC, Morgan Stanley and J.P. Morgan. Mr. Valdés has been recognized as one of the leading lawyers in Chile by recent surveys conducted by Chambers & Partners, IFLR, Practical Law Company and Latin Lawyer. He is professor of Commercial Law at Universidad Católica de Chile.
