José Miguel Bustamante is a member of Carey’s Energy Group. His practice is focused on energy projects, including engineering and construction, energy supply, transmission, transport contracts as well as the electric industry in force regulation and civil law. Mr. Bustamante worked at GasAtacama during 1999-2007 in the development and implementation of juridical strategies for several electrical and gas projects; in the negotiation and extension of electrical supply contracts, gas supply and transportation, industrial construction contracts; in the proceeding and obtainment of electric, mining and gas transportation concessions and litigation for easement of access and project finance. Mr. Bustamante studied Law at the Universidad Diego Portales and was admitted to the Bar in 1998. In 2006 he attended the “Derecho Administrativo Económico: Libre Competencia y Mercados Regulados” diploma at the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile. He is fluent in Spanish and English.
