Paulina Miranda is the Director and Head of Carey’s Labor and Immigration Group. She is expert in labor, social security and immigration law; but her practice also includes commercial and corporate law.

Ms. Miranda focuses in assisting national and multinational companies with their employment matters, such as hiring and termination of employees (including massive lay-offs), HR company policies, collective bargaining processes, subcontracting and outsourcing, employment matters in M&A, internal investigations (harassment and others), labor auditing, expatriates, labor taxes and compensation packages (including retention and stock option plans).

PLC Which Lawyer? 2009 recognizes Ms. Miranda as a Highly Recommended lawyer in Chile for Labor and Employee Benefits. Also, she was selected by The International Who´s Who of Management Labour & Employment Lawyers 2009 as being among the world´s pre-eminent Management Labour & Employment lawyers.

Ms. Miranda is currently an Honorary Fellow of the Association of Fellows and Legal Scholars of the Center for International Legal Studies (Salzburg, Austria). She has contributed to several specialized labor publications, such as the chapter on Chile in the “International Employment Law” (LexisNexis), to the manual Management of the Entrepreneur (Endeavor), and to the magazine Committee P News, of the International Bar Association.

Ms. Miranda studied law at the Universidad Católica de Chile and was admitted to the Bar in 1993. She joined Carey y Cía. in 1997.

She is fluent in Spanish and English.
