Sebastián Santamaría is a member of Carey y Cía.’s Natural Resources, Energy and Environment Group. His practice focus areas are energy, mining, industrial and natural resources projects, territorial planning, land use and environmental and forest law. Additionally, he practices sports law.

Between 2007 and 2010, he worked at Carey y Cía.’s Natural Resources and Environment Group. In 2010 and 2011 he worked at Celulosa Arauco & Constitución in charge of legal affairs of the company in the city of Valdivia. In 2011 he worked for the Projects Unit of the Vicepresidence of Legal Affairs of Transelec, where he focused in the execution of transmission line and electrical substation projects. From 2008 up to date Mr. Santamaría has served as an assistant at the Processal Law Department of the Universidad de Chile School of Law.  

Mr. Santamaría graduated from the Universidad de Chile Law School in 2005. During 2007 he received the “Práctica Sobresaliente” award granted by the Judicial Assistance Corporation. He was admitted to the Bar in 2008, and on 2009 he attended a Sports Management Diploma at Universidad Santo Tomás, in agreement with the International Football Association Board (FIFA) and the International Centre for Sports Studies (CIES). He is a member of the Chilean Bar Association.

He is fluent in Spanish, English and Catalan.
