Chilean firm Carey has helped US solar energy developer SunPower and its parent company Total win a contract to supply energy to Chile’s second largest power generator, Colbún.

The value of the power purchase agreement was kept confidential. The agreement has a 15-year term and will see SunPower and Total supply 500 gigawatt hours of solar energy per year, from a to-be-constructed 164-megawatt solar power plant.

Thirteen companies participated in the bidding process. Colbún hired Barros & Errázuriz Abogados for the launch of the bidding process, which closed on 20 May.
