Recent Representative Experience

  • Liberty International on the necessary capital increase and bylaws amendments to comply with the insurers mandatory debt ratios in Chile on the context of its public offer for Compañía de Seguros Generales Penta.
  • Parque Titanium and Torre A on the loss adjustment process and negotiations with insurance companies on the interpretation and enforcement of insurance policies of three important office buildings in Santiago, Chile, that were entirely shut down for four months due to a flood.
  • Fairfax on the local insurance regulatory due diligence of its acquisition of AIG´s commercial and consumer insurance operations.
  • Sencorp on the reconstruction process of the Parque Titanium project (a mixed-use project of three buildings), after a flood of the Mapocho river destroyed several floors of the project. Carey’s assistance included the preparation and negotiation of the agreements with the project’s co-owners and tenants in relation to the reconstruction process.
  • Travelers and Novae Syndicates on the successful defense and settlements of a dispute arising from an insurance claim involving two losses between the insured Puerto Panul and insurance company Compañía de Seguros Generales Penta-Security.
  • Host Hotels & Resorts in the sale of two Chilean entities, the first one owner of the property in which the hotels Sheraton Santiago and San Cristóbal Tower operate, and the second one lessee of such property.
  • Chilean companies in the execution, amendment and termination of credit agreements.
