Banco de Chile returns to Carey for Swiss bonds
Thomas Muskett-Ford

Banco de Chile has retained the familiar counsel of Carey to issue two bonds in Switzerland worth a combined US$310 million.

BNP Paribas and Deutsche Bank acted as joint lead managers for the transaction, which closed 21 March. The issuances – the bank’s fifth and sixth in Switzerland – form part of an ongoing drive by Banco de Chile to diversify its funding sources. For Switzerland, this has seen the Chilean bank turn to Carey before with the legal team behind the current offering identical to the team assembled last year for an earlier issuance.
